第3回北極科学大臣会合Webinar series（連続オンライン・セミナー）開催のお知らせ

　来年5月に東京で開催される第３回北極科学大臣会合（ASM3）に向けて、今月から以下8回のASM3 Webinar seriesを公開で開催いたします。このWebinar seriesでは、ASM3のScience Processの一環として、急速に変化する北極における諸課題に対する対応が議論されます。ASM3では、全体テーマとして「Knowledge for Sustainable Arctic」を掲げ、そのために必要な４つのステップ：Observe－Understand－Respond－Strengthenを議論します。
　第1回のIntroduction Webinarを10月21日（水）に予定しておりますので、ぜひご参加ください。参加にはASM3のホームページ（https://asm3.org/webinar-series/）から事前登録が必要となります。

※ 北極科学大臣会合について
北極科学大臣会合（ASM）は、北極における研究・観測や社会的課題への対応のために関係国間の国際協力や北極の先住民団体との協力を促進することを目的として、2016年に米国の呼びかけで第１回会合（ASM1）が、２年後の2018年には第2回会合（ASM2）がドイツ、フィンランド、EUの共催により開催されました。ASMには北極圏国に加えて非北極圏国と北極の先住民団体が参加し、会合の成果として共同声明（Joint Statement）が採択されます。日本は第3回会合（ASM3）をアイスランドとの共催により東京において開催します。本年11月の開催が予定されていましたが、新型コロナウイルス感染症の世界的蔓延を受け、2021年5月に延期されました。
