Research Professor Sei-Ichi Saitoh gave an invited lecture on April 25th from 12:30 to 13:00 at SPEXA (Space Business Expo : Brings together companies and professionals in the space industry and various sectors) held at Tokyo Big Sight from April 24th to 26th, 2024. The theme of the lecture was “Space x Fisheries: Development and dissemination of a system that realizes a smart fishery using satellite remote sensing.”

The abstract of the lecture is as follows.

“Smart Fishery” means “visualizing” work methods that rely on intuition and experience using ICT technology, and “improving efficiency” and “high profits” by making full use of IoT and AI technologies. It may be possible to define it as a “fisheries industry” that has evolved. The most important thing is that this is directly linked to a “profitable fisheries industry” and the development of the fisheries industry as a growth industry. It is expected that the smart fishery, which uses satellite remote sensing, can contribute to economic revitalization through higher profits and improved brand competitiveness.
