“It’s an unforgettable adventure to experience the interactions between permafrost and wildfires. In the remote, desolate but magnificent region of we investigate the permafrost and vegetation status after a series of wildfires occurred recently or decades ago, acquiring valuable knowledge of the permafrost’s weakness as well as resilience in boreal regions, which could support our ongoing studies by combining fieldwork, remote sensing, and geodesy.”
