The Marine Education Promotion Committee of the Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers has been hosting Marine Education Forums nationwide since 2008 with the aim of helping young people understand “Our Relationship with the Ocean.”
The 115th Marine Education Forum—the fifth to be held in Hokkaido—will take place on December 13, 2026, at the Hokkaido University Conference Hall, with the Arctic Research Center serving as a supporting organization. The forum will feature two lectures by experts on the theme of the Sea of Okhotsk, as well as research presentations by high school students from Hokkaido.
