Masahide Kaeriyama, a professor emeritus and researcher at our center, conducted a study on the effects of global warming on wild chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) migrating upstream in the Bibi River Basin. This area includes Lake Utonai, a site registered under the Ramsar Convention. The study’s findings and his comment were published in the Tomakomai Minpo newspaper.
