Participants from outside Hokkaido University, including Mr. Obata from the University of Tokyo Graduate School and Ms. Suzuki from the Graduate School of Advanced Studies, have come to join the event from Tokyo.

Approximately 35 people, including 18 in-person and 17 online, participated. Glacier observations has begun in 2007, and it has been reported that the rate of decline in glacier surface elevation has increased significantly since 2019, indicating rapid glacier melting. It has been discussed that the importance of glacier observations is not only for the impact on global warming but also for disaster prevention. One group also investigated vegetation after glacier retreat.

The presentations showed teamwork, demonstrating the collaborative effort.
