From 19-23 May, Professor Fujio Onishi stayed briefly at Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in the western Polish city of Poznań under the EU’s Erasmus Plus teacher exchange programme. Founded in 1919 as the University of Poznań and renamed in 1955 after the Polish national poet, AMU is a comprehensive university with approximately 50,000 students in 13 faculties. During their stay, Assoc. Prof. Ohnishi exchanged views on research and educational exchange with faculty members of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, and gave lectures on the history and current state of international relations in the Arctic to the students of the Faculty. This visit was kindly supported by Professor Tomasz Brańka of AMU, and Professor Akihiro Iwashita of the Slavic Eurasian Research Centre, who was in charge of this teacher exchange programme at the Hokkaido University side.
