The 3rd Drone Summit” (organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry / Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism / Hokkaido) was held at the Sapporo Convention Center on October 1 and 2, 2024, and Associate Professor Takafumi Hirata of our center served as a coordinator of the panel discussion at the ”Hokkaido Industry-Academia-Government Research Forum: Hokkaido Aerospace Conference 2024” (coordinated by Mr. Tatsuya Fujiwara of the Forum), and Research Promotion Professor Sei-Ichi Saitoh gave an invited talk ( https://h-sangakukan.jp/events/4599 ).
The keynote speech was given by Mr. Kuninobu Yoshida, Counselor, Secretariat for Strategic Promotion of Space Policy, Cabinet Office of the Japanese government, on the theme of “The Direction of Japan’s Space Policy: Focusing on Remote Sensing and Positioning,” and a special lecture was given by Mr. Ko Kurose, Business Operation Group, SPACE COTAN Corporation spoke on the theme of “Current Status and Future of SPACE PORT”. In addition to these speakers, Mr. Osamu Tsuji (Professor Emeritus, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine), Mr. Masuhito Emina (Forestry Research Institute, Hokkaido National Forestry Center), Prof. Sei-Ichi Saito (Research Promotion Professor at our center), Mr. Masami Kaneko (CEO, Interregion Corporation), and Mr. Masami Shirakawa (Senior Managing Director, Kitanihon SKYTEC) gave invited talks, and then a lively discussion followed.
