A global analysis co-authored by Assist. Prof. J. García Molinos and published today in Nature Climate Change shows that the deep ocean has been as exposed to recent ocean warming as its surface layer and, importantly, will be increasingly impacted over this century independently of the emission scenario followed. This is anticipated to have dire consequences for deep-sea biodiversity and implications for its conservation.
