Norway-Japan Academic Network Seminar was held on February 6, 2019 at the Research Council of Norway (RCN) in Oslo, Norway. Assoc. Since 2016, this seminar has been jointly organized by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Research Council of Norway (RCN) in Norway once a year, which is aimed at promoting academic exchange between Norway and Japan. Assoc. Prof. Fujio Ohnishi in the Arctic Research Center has been invited to attend the seminar since he was based at the Norway Institute for Defense Studies in Oslo from September 2018 to March 2019 as a visiting research fellow. He talked about his experiences at the Barents Research Institute (2008-2009) funded by the Norway Government Scholarship and at the Norway Institute for Defense Studies (2018-2019), and his current research theme of the Arctic international politics.
