Visit of high school and university students from Alaska On Thursday, December 5, ten high school and university students from an indigenous community in Alaska, who were visiting Japan under the Kakehashi project of the MoFA,stopped at the ARC for a meeting. Prof.Fukamachi, Director of ARC, and Assist. Prof. Saunavaara and Podolskiy introduced their research activities. In the part of discussion, Assoc.Prof. Ohnishi presented the ongoing ARC research on garbage issue, and exchanged opinions with students on possible solutions.Kakehashi project is a people to people exchange program between Japan and North America to promote mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan, the US and Canada, and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation.
