Associate Professor Hirata visit Hakodate Research Center for Fisheries and Oceans

 Special appointed associate professor Taka Hirata, Arctic Research Center, visited Hakodate Research Center for fisheries and Oceans (hereafter Marine Center), on May 21 of this week. We, ARC-HU, installed and operate the satellite receiving antenna system in this Marine Center. The satellite receiving antenna systems has been running for L band system receiving Metop and NOAA satellite data and for X band system receiving Terra and Aqua satellite data. We started the down-link of data gathered by the RISESAT satellite, succeeded for development, launching by Hokkaido University and Tohoku University, utilizing this X band system from the middle of April 2019. We use Room 220 of the Marine Center second floor as a satellite data analysis room.
