Dr. Irene Alabia visits IARC, University of Alaska Fairbanks and joins Alaska Forum on the Environment workshop

Dr. Irene Alabia visited the International Arctic Research Center, University of Alaska Fairbanks (IARC-UAF) from February 5-7, 2024. She met with researchers from IARC and gave a talk on her work on Arctic marine biodiversity and climate change. Prof. Masahide Kaeriyama also gave a talk on Japanese chum salmon dynamics during the hybrid seminar. From February 8-9, she participated on the Alaska Forum on the Environment (AFE) held at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center, Anchorage, Alaska. She was one of the panelists for the workshop on `Observing for Community Decision Making’ on February 9th, where she presented an overview of Japan’s ongoing studies on the Arctic biodiversity and salmon. She also joined the break-out group on Pacific salmon discussions.
