A special seminar was organised on 25 August 2022 with a visit from Dr Ji Rubao from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, USA.

Dr Ji Rubao, a senior researcher at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, USA, specialising in marine ecology, was invited to give a special ARC seminar on 25 August (11:00-12:00) in Seminar Rooms B & C on the 4th floor of the Creative Research Institution at Hokkaido University Sapporo Campus (and online via Zoom) (co-organised by the Hokkaido University Arctic Initiative for Future Earth and SDGs, HAI-FES, https://www.arc.hokudai.ac.jp/en/hai-fes/). Dr. Rubao presented his work on the phenology and biogeography of marine lower-trophic ecosystems (plankton) in the Arctic Ocean. The 27 participants, both on-site and on-line, consist of students, researchers and professors. Several participants had research fields different from marine ecology, and the Q&A session was a lively with a wide range of questions, which contributed to interdisciplinary collaboration.
