The meeting was held at the National Institute of Polar Research, Tachikawa, Tokyo (https:\/\/essas.arc.hokudai.ac.jp\/what_s_new\/2025-essas-osm\/). Many scientists from Iceland, the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, Greenland, China, Germany, Norway, the United States, Poland, and Russia, presented their latest research on the natural environment, such as ocean physics, biogeochemistry, and ecosystems in the subarctic and Arctic regions. Notably, the invited lectures on the historical aspects of scientific efforts utilizing indigenous knowledge of the Arctic region attracted the audience.
