Hokkaido University Arctic Research Center would like to express grave concern over the invasion of Ukraine launched by the Russian troops on 24 February 2022, and would like to extend deep condolences to the families of the victims of this conflict. These actions of the Russian state are reprehensible and unjustifiable.<\/p>\n
At the same time, our Center has been collaborating with numerous Russian research institutions and is seriously concerned about the deleterious impact the current situation may have on the relations with these organizations and prospects for further research.<\/p>\n
We strongly condemn the use of force by the Russian state against Ukraine and urge that the military intervention be immediately stopped and peace restored.<\/p>\n
